Abstract

The research investigates the main elements that drive low-income users to adopt e-wallet solutions. The study used quantitative research methods to deliver a structured questionnaire through an online platform to West Malaysia’s targeted respondents. The research team gathered information through stratified random sampling techniques and analyzed 250 low-income e-wallet users with SmartPLS software. This research employs the Technology Acceptance Model and analyzes e-wallet acceptance as one dependent variable with perceived ease of use, security and trust serving as three independent variables. The study results show that higher perceived ease of use and higher trust leads to e-wallet acceptance. The study offers recommendations for e-wallet service providers while targeting marketers and academia, especially in the areas of policy development and management strategies. This research creates a framework to drive e-wallet adoption while identifying a research gap in fintech and key factors that affect e-wallet acceptability. The study presents specific guidelines for building a cashless society through its analysis of successful digital financial growth experiences in certain countries.
